Ottawa County Engineers Office and Garage

Port Clinton, Ohio

SCOPE: This project was to renovate 14,409 s.f. of highway garage, design a 5,400 s.f. addition to highway garage, demolition of 7,188 s.f. of existing highway offices & garage to be renovated for engineer’s office, and 280 s.f. entry addition for engineer’s office. Project was completed in phases to allow the county to occupy highway department during construction and to complete their new garage addition prior to demo of existing garage space for offices. Extensive studies and budgets were developed to minimize the cost to local residences yet providing the county with a campus that meets their current and future needs.

New program included offices, conference rooms, general storage, multi-purpose room, heated storage and workstations. New mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire suppression, alarm, technology, security and communication systems compatible with existing systems and to remain in service during construction. State of the art technology, equipment and design were incorporated throughout to enhance staff’s working environment, functionality and durability for long term impact on the county. Previously the county engineer’s office was in another building so this new complex places the departments that work together in close proximity to each other on one campus.
