SCOPE:

Assembly Hall Building B-3 – 980 SF Addition

Schmid Architects designed a 980 square foot addition to Assembly Hall Building B-3 to enhance functionality for rental groups and event catering services. The new space includes a prep kitchen, janitor’s room, and a table and chair storage room, all designed to integrate seamlessly with the existing wood pole structure. The addition maintains a 9’-0” ceiling height and matches the architectural language and materials of the existing facility.

Key interior finishes include epoxy resin flooring, solid surface countertops, stainless steel sinks, and Pella Impervia fiberglass windows, ensuring durability and ease of maintenance. A rolling fire shutter door was strategically placed between the prep kitchen and the main assembly area, allowing caterers to work efficiently without disrupting events in progress.

An exterior service entrance gives catering staff direct access to the kitchen, further minimizing interference with ongoing programs. The project was completed under budget.
